"Heart Attack"
Did you know that people die from heart attacks every 36 seconds? Can you believe that it's America's #1 killer?Well,if you don't believe me,then you better start believing now because heart attacks can be very deadly and if you dont know why, how, who, and what happens when a heart attack occurs, then YOU might be the next victim!
Heart attacks(also know as a coronary attack)can result from heart and blood vessel diseases or coronary heart diseases. When plaque builds up in your arteries,it causes your arteries to become harder and thicker and when the plaque breaks open,a blood clot will form. When your blood flows to a part of your heart that is blocked by a blood clot,a hart attack will occur.
Some warning signs to indicate a heart attack are, lightheadedness, breaking into a cold sweat, shortness of breath, and pain/discomfort in one or both arms, your back, neck, jaw or stomach.Another indication sign is pressure, squeezing,or fullness or pain in the center of your chest, which might last for a few minutes,or goes away and comes back again.
To avoid getting a heart attack, you shouldn't smoke or inahle the aroma of tobacco smoke, you should treat high blood pressure if needed, eat a healthy/nutritious diet and excercise..Also you should keep your weight at a normal range, see your doctor for daily, weekly,or monthly check-ups,take your prescribed medicines and control your blood sugar if you have diabetes. If necessary and if you're properly trained, you may give the victim CPR(mouth-to-mouth rescue breathing and chest compressions)until the help arrives. If you've had a heart attack before, you should start making changes in your life by eating healthy, excercising and quitting smoking. You should also talk to doctors about when you can get back to your normal life/routine such as going back to work or driving a car.If a heart attack happens to anyone at all,you shouldn't wait;you should dial 911 or get to the nearest hospital or call the nearest emergency medical services(ambulance/fire department).
