Are you the type of perosn who relies on technology for everything these days?When you dont feel like doing a math problem,do you just go on the internet or just use a calculator.Well,picture yourself in the wilderness with no wifi or no gadgets at all and you will be stranded in the middle of no where for a while.What would you do?Would you scream to the top of your lungs,yelling for cell service or would you figure out another way to survive?
Instead of using your iphone 6s to call your grandma for help,you should learn the old-fashioned way just in case.When in a certain situation of survival,people use signaling devices just in case of an emergency.They are called emergency signaling devices.These devices have saved many lives!
EMERGECY SIGNALING DEVICES:

Fire/Smoke-Can attract attention to people(helicopter crew,ect)from far away

Mirror-Can reflect off of the sun to make a beam of light

Flashlight-To send SOS codes/can produce a large amount of light to attract people

Whistle/Air Horn/Gunshots-Can make really loud noises

Ground to Air Making Signals-Can attract attention to people off of the ground

How was someone rescued using one of these devices?:
FOX 29 NEWS-JAN. 11-Coast Guard Rescues Two off New Jersey Coast-In Fortescue,New Jersey,two men were stranded on a marsh after their sailing vessel became disabled.To get help,they used working communications and signaling devices.They also called for help on a cell phone which helped lead to their rescue.To rescue them,the helicopter crew used night vision goggles and saw their emergency flare,which gave them the sailors' locations and they were taken into custody.
